The Department treats medical disorders in the oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas and abdominal cavity at specialist level. These may include oesophagitis, stomach ulcer, inflammatory bowel disease, complications in cirrhosis of the liver, hepatitis and pancreatitis.

Moreover, the Department performs a large number of diagnostic and treatment procedures with a gastroscope on the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, large intestine, biliary tract and pancreas.
