Core Tasks
The Department of Pathology provides state-of-the-art diagnostic services within all fields of anatomical and surgical pathology as well as cytology and molecular pathology. Cancer diagnostics with comprehensive tissue biobanking is one of our main tasks but we also work with inflammatory and degenerative diseases.
We work closely together with the clinical departments at Odense University Hospital and many other departments in the Region of Southern Denmark. Furthermore we provide diagnostic services for general practitioners, specialist doctors and dentists in Funen.
A small number of perinatal and adult autopsies are also done.
Techniques:
Immunohistochemistry
Hybridisation techniques (in situ hybridisation, PCR, NGS)
